    New Technology In Kansas City

    Technolas 217A Excimer Laser

Silverstein Eye Centers is one of the most highly respected Ophthalmic facilities in the Midwest, and now uses the most advanced LASIK technology available: the Bausch and Lomb TECHNOLAS 217A EXCIMER LASER.

To achieve optimum vision correction, Dr. Steven Silverstein utilizes the most advanced techniques available in corrective surgery. This is why he has chosen to add the Technolas 217A Excimer, which utilizes an innovative technology called a “flying spot laser.” A narrow beam (about 2 mm wide) contacts the eye at lightning speed in a pattern that allows the eye to clear in one place before contacting that area again. A computer running specialized software determines the exact pattern of pulses needed to remove just the right amount of corneal tissue.

It is the only one of its kind in Eastern Jackson County. It provides flexibility for the surgeon and excellent comfort for patients. This technology produces a smoother corneal shape and helps increase the accuracy and efficiency of the surgery.

Silverstein Eye Centers is located in the Blue Ridge Bank Tower Building, next to the Blue Ridge Mall. The growth and expansion of Silverstein Eye Centers is literally changing LASIK surgery in the Kansas City area, and creating more choices for patients, by using the most advanced and up-to-date equipment and techniques available.

Patients are offered various refractive surgical procedures to reduce or eliminate their need for glasses and contact lenses.

Silverstein Eye Centers is a local business that is operated by Steven M. Silverstein, a Board-Certified ophthalmologist and fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Silverstein is active in a number of Professional medical organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the Midwest Cornea Society, the Kansas City Society of Ophthalmology and Otolaryngology, the Missouri Medical Society, and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Dr. Steven Silverstein has performed thousands of surgical procedures. Many physicians in the Kansas City area have entrusted Dr. Steven M. Silverstein to improve their vision and performance with LASIK.

The arrival of the Bausch and Lomb Technolas 217A Excimer laser is the next step in the strategy to deliver the highest quality vision care to the Kansas City community.
