    PRK (Photo Refractive Keratectomy)

PRK is a minimally invasive laser surgical procedure, which, similar to LASIK, reshapes the cornea in order to correct refractive errors such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism. It differs from LASIK in that the corneal skin, or epithelium, is polished off before applying the laser treatment, rather than creating the flap, as is done in all LASIK procedures.

Return to visual clarity and post-operative comfort during the healing process takes longer than seen with LASIK. There are circumstances, however, when PRK is the procedure of choice for specific patients. This is an important element of the pre-operative evaluation and surgical planning done prior to your procedure.

    Contoura® Vision Topography-guided LASIK

In clinical trials, 92% of patients that had the Contoura® Vision treatment reported seeing 20/20 or better, 12 months after their procedure.
