RxSight® Light Adjustable Prescription Lenses
RxSight® Light Adjustable Lenses
If you are anticipating cataract surgery, you will have many choices of lenses to implant when your natural lens is removed. You should discuss your activities, lifestyle, and vision expectations with your physician. RxSight® offers new technology, allowing patients to have their vision customized following surgery. Visual outcomes often lead to better eyesight without glasses.
RxSight® Light Adjustable Lens is an intraocular lens (IOLs) made with special materials which allow vision to be customized after implantation. Patients who have cataract surgery with these lens implants can adjust their vision based on their preferences until satisfied. This innovative lens, developed by RxSight® for cataract patients, is the first and only FDA-approved IOL of its kind. Following surgery and appropriate healing, the doctor will expose the lens implant to a specific amount of light energy which changes its shape and prescription power. Uses and Applications
RxSight® sought an effective solution to address the limitations of modern technologies used to correct vision. RxSight® IOLs allow you to have your vision adjusted based on your visual preferences and lifestyle, post-surgery.
- Cataracts (clouded lens)
- Myopia (nearsightedness)
- Hyperopia (farsightedness)
- Astigmatism (pre-existing)
Features and Benefits
RxSight® lenses are implanted in the same way as non-adjustable lenses. They were developed using a special photosensitive material invented by a scientist who won the Nobel Prize. After you have cataract surgery and your eye heals, you will visit your doctor for eye testing. Once you have selected a prescription based on your visual requirements, your doctor will conduct ultraviolet (UV) light treatments to reshape your lens. To achieve your desired optical correction, you will have two to four treatments before locking in the final prescription.
- Superior Visual Outcomes
- Customized Prescription – match your desired vision post-surgery
- Adjustable Vision – light treatments are done until you’re happy
How RxSight® Compares to Alternative Treatments
Traditional monofocal lens implanted during cataract surgery offer limited correction for distance vision. The RxSight® lenses deliver customized visual outcomes that non-adjustable implants cannot. If you opt for adjustable lenses, you will be more likely to achieve 20/20 vision without the need for glasses.
NEW LIGHT ADJUSTABLE LENSES
RxSight has developed the first intraocular lens (IOL) that allows us to optimize your vision following cataract surgery, and deliver superior visual outcomes that non-adjustable IOLs cannot match.
