• PRICE DIFFERENCE FOR CUSTOM LASIK

Due in part to the wavefront technology used in custom LASIK procedures to create a digital, 3-D map of your eye, custom LASIK is typically more expensive than traditional LASIK surgery.

Because there are a number of variables that affect the cost of both traditional and custom LASIK, it’s impossible to provide an accurate estimate without first having a consultation with an experienced Kansas City ophthalmologist at Silverstein Eye Centers. Generally speaking, custom LASIK may add between $500 and $1,000 per eye onto the cost of traditional LASIK.

Factors that affect the cost of LASIK surgery include:

    • The surgeon
    • The equipment/technology used in the procedure
    • The type of procedure
    • Your specific condition
    • Your location

While custom LASIK is often more expensive than traditional LASIK, custom LASIK provides increased accuracy that many patients find beneficial.

At Silverstein Eye Centers, we participate in most major medical and vision insurance plans. Not all insurance plans cover refractive surgery, however, and it’s best to consult with your policy prior to scheduling your procedure; if you have questions, we can also help verify your insurance information for you.

We also offer financing and payment plans. For more information financing, please see our Payment Options page.
