• TREATMENT FOR GLAUCOMA

If you have glaucoma, there are a number of glaucoma treatment options that may be effective in stopping or slowing down the development of the disease. The only way to know whether one of these treatments will be effective for you is to visit one of our experienced ophthalmologists. Once we learn more about you, your vision and your objectives, we can begin to develop a treatment plan for you.

Some of the treatments used to treat glaucoma include:

Eyedrops: Some eyedrops improve the drainage of the eye while others prevent the eye from producing excessive fluid.

Laser trabeculoplasty: a laser surgery that reconstructs the eye drain.

Laser iridotomy: a laser surgery customized for people with angle-closure glaucoma.

Glaucoma surgery: surgery to increase drainage in the eye.

Oftentimes treatment with eyedrops is used as a first defense, and then we can reassess whether another treatment is necessary if the eyedrops do not work. Our ophthalmologists are part of the advancing field of modern glaucoma treatment, and they can find a customized treatment option with the goal of halting your vision loss.
