• CUSTOM LASIK PROCEDURES

Custom LASIK is a little bit of a silly name because of course all LASIK procedures are customized to your eyes and your particular vision problems. LASIK is always designed to correct your particular vision problems, but custom LASIK is designed to correct different types of vision problems.

Traditional LASIK can measure and correct what we call nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism, which we group together under the name “lower order aberrations.” Custom LASIK can measure and correct finer visual impairments, which may be manifested as halos, glare, or just unclear vision that can’t be corrected using glasses or contacts.

Custom LASIK depends on a technology known as wavefront measurements, which create a 3-D map of the visual disturbances in your eye across the entire area to be treated. This 3-D map allows for correction that better incorporates the possibility of distortion throughout your visual system to give you the best possible vision after LASIK.
