• HOW GOOD WILL MY VISION BE WITH ReSTOR®?

ReSTOR® is a very successful and popular intraocular lens implant that can be used to give you a full range of functional vision after cataract surgery. In the past, most people still had to wear reading glasses or bifocals after cataract surgery. With lens options like ReSTOR®, most people can experience a life without glasses after cataract surgery.

How good are the results of ReSTOR®? Good enough that 94% of recipients would choose the lens again. Most people achieve highly functional vision at all distances using ReSTOR®.

For distance vision, 99% of patients achieved 20/40 or better vision–the legal standard for a driver’s license without a glasses restriction in Missouri. And 85% of patients achieved 20/25 or better vision without contacts or glasses.

For near vision, 74% of patients achieved 20/25 or better vision with ReSTOR®, typically considered sufficient to read normal newsprint without glasses.

At intermediate distances, 90% of patients achieved 20/40 vision at 60 cm (about three feet), again the legal standard for driving without glasses.

In addition, few patients experienced visual artifacts with ReSTOR®. About 90% of patients report good quality night vision, 70% had no or only mild glare, and 66% had no or only mild halos. Overall, patients receive excellent vision with ReSTOR®.
